en·caus·tic

/inˈkôstik,enˈkôstik,inˈkästik,enˈkästik/

adjective

  1. (especially in painting and ceramics) using pigments mixed with hot wax that are burned in as an inlay.

noun

  1. the art or process of encaustic painting.

Art is the itch that I need to scratch.

I've always been creative, but my passion for encaustic painting (painting with hot wax) merged with my love of mixed media around 2008. Wax has unlimited possibilities and exploring them is my happy place.

My work has been exhibited in a variety of galleries and homes around the country. I encourage you to view encaustic work in person as photos often fall short in capturing the depth, luminosity and aroma of the beeswax.
